About Me:

I am a mathematician and teacher.  For fun, I like to sing, perform magic tricks, and play games.  My research is in mathematical logic, with a special interest in computability theory and computable model theory.  I received my doctorate in mathematics in 2009 from the University of Connecticut, where I also received my master’s degree in mathematics in 2006.  I hold a Bachelor of Science in mathematics from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, which I received in 2004.  I completed the Teacher Certification Program at Siena College in 2004, and I am currently certified to teach 7-12 mathematics in Connecticut.

After graduate school, I taught as a tenure-track assistant professor of mathematics at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College in Terre Haute, Indiana.  From the fall of 2011 to the spring of 2014, I was a visiting assistant professor of mathematics at Manhattan College in Riverdale, NY.  In the fall of 2014, I began teaching at Springfield College in Springfield, MA.  I teach undergraduate mathematics courses that include Foundations of Mathematics, Precalculus Mathematics, Introduction to Calculus with Applications, Discrete Mathematics I, and Linear Algebra.

In past semesters I have taught Fundamentals of Mathematics (a basic skills course for under-prepared students), Precalculus, Calculus I, II, and III, Introduction to Calculus with Applications, Calculus for Business Decisions, Differential Equations, Discrete Mathematics, Linear Algebra, Introduction to Higher Geometry, Statistics, Teaching and Learning with Technology, an undergraduate seminar in mathematics, and a series of courses in mathematics and methods for pre-service elementary, middle, and secondary school teachers.  For more information about my teaching, research, and other fun things, click on the tabs in the navigation bar at the top of this page.
